In August 2023, Andrew sadly lost his mother who was living in this beautiful home in Italy. Located in the very quiet village of San Romano, Lucca.
Upon a lot of discussion we choose to keep the house for a holiday home for us, family and friends to enjoy.
We have spent a year travelling back and forwards decorating and trying to get the house more suitable and are now ready to start sharing with our loved ones.
We know it is not perfect and there will always be more to do, but we will continue to do the best that we can.
San Romano is a quiet village based in an old Roman Catholic Church commune. Surrounded with amazing mountain views, this is a lovely place to go to enjoy being outdoors and explore.
The majority of the properties are over 400 years old and built from stone, bricks or concrete. The paths are mostly cobblestone paths and uneven in parts. San Romano is located approximately 2/3's up a mountain and will involve a windy drive for 10 minutes as you work your way up..
The village is located close to the town of Borgo A Mozzano which is at the bottom of the mountain. This is where you will be able to find shops and local amenities.
San Romano is located just over 1 hour from Pisa Airport, where there are lots of car hire firms available should you choose to drive.
There are a couple of routes you can take, however some do have toll charges, so be prepared if you take that option.
Once arriving at the village of San Romano, you will notice community parking, there is no way of getting a car directly to the house unfortunately.
To get to the house there are a few different paths you can take, the house is located higher up in the village and will take 5 minutes to walk to from the car park.
The yellow dot on the satellite picture is the location of the house.
We are pleased to announce that we are now taking bookings for 2025 onwards.
