Tuscany is a beautiful place to visit but in the winter, with the snow on the mountains, it's amazing to see. However, it is important to note that due to the location of the house, it can make it more challenging especially when driving up the hill.
The hill to get to San Romano is a long winding road with steep drops on the side. In the wintry or wet conditions, it is important to take it slow. Not many cars use the road but you may find something coming the other way.
In wintry conditions a car must have snow chains, which are usually provided from the car hire company, but this is something to check when booking your hire car.
Due to shops not being local to the village, we would recommend that you stock up on items you may need during your stay, just in case it becomes a challenge getting out and back to the village.
As mentioned in information about the house, there is no central heating but we do have a pellet burner and a wood burner to warm up the house.
The house will be cold when you first arrive but instructions for the pellet burner can be found on the dining table.
The pellet burner will be left full with a supply to keep it going throughout your stay, and there will be plenty of logs available for the wood burner, should you choose to use that too.
Occasionally in bad weather the electrics may go out but there are candles available and information on how to reset will be provided in welcome pack.
We are pleased to announce that we are now taking bookings for 2025 onwards.
